10 Summer Hair Masks: Repair Dry, Damaged Hair, scalp
Hot weather and hot hair
styling apparatus, summer can be rather ruthless when it comes to our hair. But
instead of spending lots of money in the salon to recover from the damages and
dryness, you must check out what’s in your own kitchen first. Try following
hair mask to protect your hair from getting dry and damaged during summer.
1. Banana Honey Hair Mask
The banana contains
vitamins, potassium, antioxidants and natural
moisture, which rejuvenate dry, damaged hair. It also strengthens hair
follicles and promotes healthy scalp.
Ingredients
1 ripe banana
Honey – 2-3 tbsp
Plain yogurt – ½ cup
Mash banana to make
smooth paste, you can blend it with yogurt using blender until you have a
smooth yet thick consistency. Then add honey to this paste, mix well and apply
to your hair for 40-60 minutes. Wash it off with normal or lukewarm water.
Follow this 2-3 times a week.
2. Deep
conditioning mask for shine & moisture
Take half cup of
olive oil, 1 cup of mayonnaise, and 2 egg yolks in a bowl. Mix it properly and
apply it to your hair and scalp, especially the ends. You can wrap your hair in
a towel or leave it open for about 40 minutes and then rinse it off using normal
water. This hair mask will protect your hair from damage.
3. Olive oil- egg hair mask
Olive oil moisturizes
brittle ends, dry hair and strengthens hair to prevent further breakage as it
is a rich source of Vitamin E.
Ingredients
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp white or apple
cider vinegar
1 egg
Mix the ingredients
all together and coat it on your hair for 30-40 minutes, then rinse well.
4. Avocado-honey hair mask
Honey and avocado has
incredible softening and moisturizing properties. Avocado contains Vitamins A,
B, D, E and natural oils that gives shine and prevents hair loss due to dryness.
Ingredients
1 medium-sized
avocado
2 tbsp honey
Mash the avocado to
make a fine puree, and then add honey to it. Apply the mixture on hair and
scalp and massage your scalp for 5-10 minutes to promote stimulation. Leave it
on for more 40-60 minutes to fully absorb into the hair and then wash it off
with normal water. It will nourish your damaged hair and works as a great scalp
treatment,
5. Egg
and mayo to recover dry- damaged hair
The egg has rich amount
of protein, so it helps to recover from damaged hair. Take 1 egg white, half
cup of plain yogurt and ¼ cup of mayonnaise. Mix the entire ingredients one
after the other and apply it to your hair.
Spread the mixture as hair mask evenly all over your hair and scalp. Leave the mask for 45-60 minutes and wash off with normal water.

6. Coconut milk overnight hair mask
Coconut milk is well
known for its natural moisturizing property, which nourishes hair, especially dry
and brittle hair. This mask strengthens sun-baked strands.
Ingredients
Fresh coconut milk - 2
tbsp
Lavender/almond oil -
5-6drops
Take fresh coconut
milk and add 5-6 drops of lavender or almond oil to it. Apply this combination
from root to tip, making sure that hairs are properly coated. Leave it
overnight and wash off using herbal or mild shampoo and/or conditioner in the
morning to moisturize your hair.
