8. Baking Soda

Excess of alcohol could lead to increased urination. This results in the loss of bicarbonates. Sodium bicarbonate, also called baking soda, by nature, is a great remedy for hangover. 

It's alcohol's nature to increase the acidity of one's stomach. Sodium bicarbonate neutralizes the acidity and alleviates gastrointestinal issues due to hangover.

1.  Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda with glass of water and drink this once or twice a day to get rid of hangover symptoms like nausea and vomiting.


9. Peppermint

Peppermint is a natural remedy for hangover. It boosts digestion and relieves tension, nausea and even prevents bloating. These are few common symptoms of severe hangover. Peppermints also boost detoxification process.

1.  Chew 5-6 fresh peppermint leaves to relax you intestines and quick recovery. Do this 3 times a day.

2.  Smash 7-8 fresh peppermint leaves or 2 teaspoon of dried peppermint, Boil it with your regular or herbal tea, also add 2 tablespoon of honey instead of sugar. Drink this tea 2-3 times a day.
3.  You can add few drops of peppermint oil in a bathtub of warm water. Soak yourself for around 30 minutes and you will definitely feel better. You can also use a cold compress in order to soothe headache due to hangover.


10. Tomato Juice

Tomato juices contain sugar in the form of fructose which aids faster metabolism of alcoholic beverages. These are also rich in minerals, vitamins and enzymes. These aid faster recovery from hangover.



1.  Prepare glass of fresh tomato juice and mix 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice and half teaspoon of black pepper or pinch of cayenne pepper. Mix it well and drink it in the morning, do this twice a day to get rid of hangover symptoms.

2.  Consume warm tomato soups, added with some ginger, black pepper or cayenne pepper and garlic.


11. Apple cider vinegar

This has a capability to balance pH level of the body and it also removes toxicity and even protects one's liver from getting damaged. The soda in it replenishes the lost electrolytes and hydrates the body.

Mix 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and one teaspoon of baking soda in half glass of water. Mix them well and drink it for fast recovery.



12. Coffee

Black coffee in its strong form is a great remedy for hangover. Coffee rich in cocoa can be consumed throughout the day in small quantity rather than taking large quantity at a time. Coffee has caffeine that metabolizes alcohol quickly and alleviates headache as well.

Caution: Drinking too much of coffee leads to dehydration and hence should be limited.

1.  One should not consume alcoholic beverages in the morning in order to get rid of hangover. Drinking more alcohol would make hangover get worse than being helpful.

2.  Take a hot water bath in the morning because, it opens the skin pores to eliminate the alcohol toxins from the body and keeps you fresh. 

3.  Drinking slowly can considerably lessen possibilities of getting a hangover.  
4.  Take plenty of sleep, to recover your normal body functions.
