10. Flax­seed or flaxseed oil

Try to consume more food that contains essential fatty acids such as flax­seed or flaxseed oil, consume 1 tablespoon of flaxseed oil once or twice a day. Replace your regular oil with flaxseed oil for salad dressing or simply use ground flaxseeds in your cereal and other food.


11. Cuticle Cream

Apply some cuticle cream on your nails and gently massage on the nails with the cream for 5-6 minutes. It gives nourishment to the dry cuticles. This cream is very beneficial and effective for brittle nails.  Do this at night before going to sleep.


12. Blackstrap Molasses

Did you know that blackstrap molasses can strengthen nails? Drink a cup of hot water or milk, in which a tablespoon of blackstrap molasses has been added, 1-2 times every day for a few weeks to notice results.



13. Horsetail

Horsetail herb helps strengthen nails. To a cup of hot water, add 2 teaspoons of dried horsetail herb. Cover the cup and allow the herb to steep for 10 minutes. Once it cools, soak your nails in the water for 20 minutes. Let it stay on your nails throughout the night and wear gloves for better results. Repeat 3-4 times in a week.



14. Eat biotin-rich foods

Biotin helps strengthening the weak nails. Consume diet rich in biotin such as cooked eggs, liver, avocado, whole grains, mushrooms, tuna, turkey, salmon, beef, sunflower seeds, peanut butter, sardines, berries, almonds, bananas, soya beans and cauliflower. 



15. Beer Soak

Beer is good for much more than a relaxing social drink. Mix ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar and ½ cup of beer in a bowl. To this, add ¼ cup of warm olive oil. Dip your nails in this solution for 10-15 minutes. This remedy should be repeated 1-2 times a week.


16. Drink lots of water

There is no substitute for plain, old drinking water. Nails benefit from drinking water, too. It helps provide hydration to damaged and dry nails.



17. Multivitamins

Vitamins are essential for healthy, strong nails. If your body does not have adequate amounts of vitamin A, vitamin C, and calcium, you could end up with dry and brittle nails. Take multivitamin and calcium supplements every day. Also, eat a diet rich in protein and calcium.


18. Primrose oil

Evening primrose oil is another rich source of essential fatty acid. Take 1,000 milligrams primrose oil supplements 2-3 times a day after meals.
