9. Potato juice

This is another best home remedy to reduce acidity. Potato juice is very excellent remedy for stomach gas. 

Prepare half cup of potato juice from raw potato, add 1 tablespoon honey & half teaspoon of black pepper powder to it and drink this mixture an hour before your meals. This can be done 2-3 times a day.


10. Fennel/Saunf

Aniseeds are very good for digestion problems including acid reflux/heartburn. Regular consumption of aniseeds helps to construct stronger digestive system. You can consume it other problems such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, spasmodic, gastritis and flatulence.

1.      Soak one tablespoon of aniseed in cup of water overnight. In the next morning, strain this water and add 1 tablespoon of honey to it, drink this water twice a day in two parts.

2.      Chew 1 tablespoon roasted aniseeds after eating heavy or spicy food. Chew the seeds thoroughly so that the juice of it can soothe your stomach & help you to digest your meal easily.



11. Cloves

1.      Smash 2 cloves and consume on empty stomach with warm water. Consumption of raw cloves gives relief from acidity. Also add cloves in your regular diet to prevent recurring acidity.

2.      Cloves have carminative effect which increases hydrochloric acid in our stomach and helps to alleviate acidity and drive out gas from your body effectively. In some cases, acidity can be caused by low stomach acid too.

3.      Crush two-three cloves and chew them thoroughly so that the juice will released into your stomach easily.

4.      Consume 2-3 crushed cloves and half teaspoon of cardamom powder with glass of warm water to minimize acid trouble.



12. Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar contains acetic acid; it is excellent for various stomach problems such as acidity, indigestion, vomiting etc. If you don’t have apple cider vinegar, use normal white vinegar.

1.      Mix 1-2 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water, also add 1 teaspoon of raw honey. Drink this mixture twice a day. You can also add apple cider vinegar in lemon juice or your lemon tea. 

2.      Mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with one tablespoons of honey and drink it after having a spicy meal to avoid acidity problem.


13. Basil/ Tulsi

Basil/Tulsi is well known as an effective digestive agent. It motivates the stomach to manufacture more mucous and has strong anti-ulcer properties.

It also decreases the effect of peptic acids in the stomach thus basil/tulsi prevents excessive acidity and it also reduces gas formation.

1.      Consume 5-7 basil leaves after meal to get instant relief from acidity. 
2.      Boil 5-6 tulsi/basil leaves in your regular tea or crush some basil leaves in your fruit juice or fruit salad. 
3.      Try to consume 10-15 basil leaves throughout the day for instant relief from acidity. 



14. Turmeric with milk

Take some chopped turmeric leaves and boil them with a cup of milk for 5 minutes. Then strain the milk and drink it warm. This is one of the effective home remedies for acid reflux.


15. Guava leaves

Take handful of guava leaves, chop them and boil in glass of water for 5-6 minutes. Strain the water and add 1 tablespoon of honey to it. Drink this warm mixture to get rid of acidity. Repeat this twice a day.



16. Asafoetida (hing)

Mix pinch of asafetida in cup of warm water, mix well and drink it. Asafoetida is very beneficial home remedy for acidity, vomiting & stomach pain.


17. Cinnamon

Cinnamon has excellent healing and anti viral properties which help you to get rid of acidity, it also works as a natural antacid and helps improve digestive system.



1.      Add half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder in a cup of water and boil it for 4-5 minutes on slow flame. Strain the water and add 1 tablespoon of honey to it. Drink this warm mixture. Do this 2-3 times a day.

2.      Take one tomato; make slices and sprinkle half teaspoon cinnamon powder and pinch of black pepper powder on the slices. Consume this and repeat this 2-3 times a day.


18. Apple

Cut fresh red apple into slices, sprinkle black salt on and consume it. If you are overloaded with food and at risk of acidity, then try apple with black salt to reduce the chances of acidity.
