7. Neem

In Ayurveda, neem is considered to be among the best detoxifying agents and blood purifying substances. Consumption of neem boosts the immune system and neem oil has antiseptic properties. In antiseptic preparations, neem leaf extract is used.

Psoriasis can also be effectively treated using neem. It kills invading fungus and bacteria and is helpful in treating skin disorders such as skin redness and itching.


8. Chamomile

Chamomile consists of anti-inflammatory flavonoid substances which are used to treat psoriasis. It is used to a large extent in Europe.


9. Olive Oil

       1.      Apply tepid olive oil in generous amounts on the areas of the skin that are affected by psoriasis. Reapply the oil many times every day until satisfactory results are obtained.

       2.      To 1 cup of olive oil, add 2 drops of calendula oil and 1 drop of oregano oil. Apply it on the affected areas of the skin and allow it to remain for a few hours. Wash off afterward. When flare-ups occur, this process should be repeated many times a day.



10. Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne pepper is also known for its anti-inflammatory properties that have a healing effect on skin. Application of cayenne pepper extract decreases redness and scaling. Medical stores stock capsaicin cream, which is made from hot pepper and is useful in decreasing psoriatic lesions. However, ensure that the cream is not applied on broken skin.




11. Camphor 

Psoriasis is a dry skin condition which aggravates the lesions and redness. Camphor has emollient properties and helps skin seal in moisture. Thus, it can be used as a remedy for psoriasis at home.



12. Cashew nut oil

Cashew nut oil can be applied on psoriatic lesions to alleviate flare-ups. It hydrates the skin and removes dead skin cells. Thus, it leaves your skin feeling smooth.


13. Glycerin

Apply glycerin in generous amounts on the affected areas of the skin and allow it to stay for as long as possible. Repeat this method 2-3 times every day for some weeks until satisfactory results are obtained.



14. Castor Oil

Castor oil can be applied to small, well-defined and thick lesions to reduce their severity. To 1 teaspoon of baking soda, add cold-pressed castor oil. Put this mixture on the affected areas of the skin before bedtime. After a few weeks of using this remedy, you will observe that the lesions have completely healed. However, do not apply the mixture on broken skin.




15. Garlic

1.      Take equal amounts of aloe vera gel and garlic oil to make a mixture. Apply the mixture on the affected areas of the skin. Allow it to stay for 15 minutes and then wash off. Use this remedy every day until some improvement is visible.

2.      Eating 2-3 cloves of crushed garlic every day helps reduce psoriatic lesions. Allow the garlic to remain in your mouth for 10 minutes before swallowing them. You can consume garlic with milk if you do not like its taste and smell. Or, you can take garlic supplements. However, you should consult a doctor to determine the right dosage.
