19. Chamomile tea
Drink cup of warm chamomile tea after
your meal or before going to sleep. This will help you to reduce inflammation
in stomach due to acid reflux and also balance out the acidity levels in
stomach. It is also very effective for relieving stress, which is one of
the reasons of acid reflux.
Take 1 tablespoon of dried chamomile
petals and boil them in cup of water for 4-5 minutes on slow flame. Strain the
water and add 1 tablespoon of honey & 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Drink this
warm mixture/tea before going to bed or twice a day to get rid of acidity.
20. Mint leaves
Consume 10-12 fresh green mint leaves
or add mint leaves chutney in your regular diet or add mint leaves in your
vegetable or fruit salad. Regular consumption of mint keeps you away from
possibilities of acidity. If you are suffering from recurrent acid reflux then
you must add mint in your regular diet.
21. Almonds
Eat 2-3 raw almonds followed by cold
milk after every meal. Almonds can neutralize the acids in your stomach, thus
it relieves and prevent symptoms of heartburn/acid reflux.
22. Indian
gooseberry/Amla
Boil 1-2 tablespoon of amla powder in
glass of water, also add 1 tablespoon of honey and pinch of black salt in it.
Consume this water twice a day if acidity is worse. You can consume raw or boiled
amla by adding it in your salad.
23. Buttermilk
Buttermilk is another simple home
remedy for acidity as it contains lactic acid that helps to normalize the
acidity in our stomach. You can buy readymade buttermilk or make it at home.

Grind one tablespoon
of fenugreek seeds with enough water to make a fine paste. Mix this paste in a
glass of buttermilk and drink it. Do this twice a day.

Mix one tablespoon of
white vinegar or apple cider vinegar or fresh lemon juice to a cup of
buttermilk, mix it well and drink this mixture.

Add half teaspoon of
black pepper powder with cup of buttermilk and drink it. Repeat this 2-3 times
a day to get rid of acidity.

Grind handful of
coriander leaves with some water to make a paste. Mix this paste with cup of a
buttermilk & one teaspoon of lemon juice. Consume this mixture 2-3 times a
day.

You can consume
buttermilk several times throughout day until you get relief from acidity.
26. Fenugreek seeds
Add 1-2 teaspoon of fenugreek powder in
your juice or herbal tea to reduce acid reflux symptoms.
27. Jaggery
Jaggery contains high amount of
potassium which helps maintain the balance of various acids in our stomach.
Suck 1-2 tablespoon of jiggery with small piece of ginger after each meal until
acidity subsides. This remedy is not appropriate for diabetic people.
28. Lose weight
If you are over weighted and suffering
from recurrent acidity problems, then you should try to lose your weight
because losing 10-20% of body fat may improve recurrent acid reflux symptoms.
