15 Best Home Remedies for Cervical Spondylosis. Cure Spondylosis Naturally at home


This is a sort of joint pain that influences cervical vertebrae and is characterized by pain at the back of the neck (radiating towards the upper limbs) and vertigo while bending downwards. Cervical spondylosis, also known as cervical osteoarthritis and neck arthritis, is an extremely basic age-related condition that influences the joints in the neck.  

There might be sensory loss and numbness in the upper limbs. In Ayurveda it is known as 'Grivasandhigatvata'. It happens because of wear and tear of the cartilage, tissues and bones of the cervical spine. These progressions may include dehydrated discs, bone spurs, herniated discs and stiff ligaments.

Aside from age, other risk factors for cervical spondylosis include occupations that may cause more stress on your neck, certain neck injuries, incorrect posture while sitting or walking, smoking, being overweight, a sedentary lifestyle and genetic factors.


Symptoms of cervical spondylosis

1.            Muscle spasms in the area of neck and shoulders
2.            Numbness or weakness in arms, hands and fingers
3.            Headache, neck pain, mostly in the back of the head
4.            Neck stiffness and swollen back neck
5.            Inability to fully turn the head or bend the neck
6.            Loss of control over the bladder


7.            Sensation when the neck is turned
8.            The pain might becomes worse at the night or in the wake of standing or sitting, while sneeze, cough or laugh and walking higher than few yards or When you bend the neck backwards
9.            Difficulty while walking due to weakness in the hands, legs and loss of balance
10.       Sounds like grinding in the neck simultaneously with the neck movement.


1. Hot and Cold Compresses

Hot compresses will improve blood circulation and relax sore muscles. Cold compresses will diminish swelling and inflammation.

1.        Wrap a hot water bag in a thin towel and wrap a few ice cubes in a thin towel.
2.        Place the hot compress on the influenced area for 2 to 3 minutes.
3.        Replace it with cold compress for 1 minute.
4.        Repeat the process for 15 to 20 minutes.
5.        Repeat this simple remedy a few times daily until you get relief.

Warning: Do not apply hot compresses if the affected area is red and irritated. Avoid cold compresses on the off chance that you have circulatory problems.



2. Garlic

Garlic has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties which reduce swelling, pain, and inflammation in the neck and other body areas.

 1. Consume 2 raw garlic buds on an empty stomach daily morning with water.

 2. Crush 2-3 garlic cloves and heat them in pan with half teaspoon of vegetable oil or sesame oil. Massage over painful area with this warm mixture for 10 minutes and apply a hot compress or take a warm bath. Follow this remedy 2-3 times a day.

3. Take 1 teaspoon of garlic oil and heat it and apply this warm oil on the affected areas and massage gently for 10 minutes every day. Repeat this twice a day.



3. Epsom Salt Bath

The magnesium in Epsom salt directs the ph levels in the body, thus decreasing stiffness, irritation and pain in the neck and shoulders.

1. Blend a little water in 1 to 2 tablespoons of Epsom salt to make a thick paste. Apply it on the influenced area for 15 to 20 minutes to get soothing effect. Do this each other day.

2. Or include 2 glasses of Epsom salt to a warm bath. Relax and soak in it for 15 to 20 minutes. Enjoy this relaxing shower 2 or 3 times each week.

Note: Those who have kidney issues, heart issues or diabetes should not utilize this remedy.


4. Sesame Seeds

Sesame seeds are rich in vitamins K and D, calcium, copper, magnesium, manganese, zinc and phosphorus which are beneficial for our bones and muscles. It also reduces neck pain and stiffness.




 
1. Apply 1-2 tablespoon of warm sesame oil on the affected area and gently massage for 10-15 minutes. Then apply a hot compress over the affected area. Repeat this 2-3 time a day.

2. Or mix 1 teaspoon of sesame oil with half teaspoon of lavender oil. Heat the mixture and massage your affected area with this warm mixture for 10 minutes and then apply hot compress.

3. Thoroughly chew one tablespoon of roasted white sesame seeds daily in the morning on an empty stomach.

4. Or mix one tablespoon of roasted sesame seeds in the glass of warm milk and consume it. Repeat this 2 times a day. Include sesame seeds in daily cooking also.


5. Neem (India Lilac)

 1. Take handful of neem leaves and grind them with some water to make a thick paste. Heat the paste on a double boiler for 20-30 minutes and apply this hot paste (bearable) on your affected area. Leave it on for 25-30 minutes, then wash it off with warm water. Repeat it 2-3 times daily.

 2. You can also massage the affected area with organic Indian lilac /neem oil 2-3 times a day for best result.

3. Another choice is to boil 3-5 neem leaves and flowers in a cup of water, allow it to cool. Strain the water, and drink it 2-3 times a day.


6. Turmeric

Because of its anti-inflammatory properties, turmeric is an alternate popular remedy for cervical spondylosis. What's more, turmeric increases blood circulation, that aides reduce muscle stiffness and pain.

1. Add a teaspoon of turmeric powder and 1 tablespoon honey in a glass of warm milk and drink it. Do this 2 times a day.

2. You can take turmeric capsules 2-3 times daily. But consult your doctor for the right dosage.
