5 Homemade Moisturizing Masks for Dry-Oily and Itchy Skin

1. Muskmelon mask

Watermelon/muskmelon and its skin is rich in vitamins, minerals, and enzymes. Muskmelon contains vitamin E, which is very essential for our skin care & nourishment. It also contains vitamin A, vitamin B2, and vitamin B6. The vitamin E and vitamin C in the watermelon & its skin is very beneficial for dry, oily and dull skin. Whereas beta carotene and lycopene found in muskmelon works as an antioxidant to tighten the facial skin and prevent wrinkles on the face.

Ingredients

Ripe melon fruit
2 tablespoons of raw milk or milk powder
1 teaspoon honey

Procedure

Peel and smash some muskmelon to make 2 tablespoon puree of it, add honey and raw milk or milk powder to it. Mix them well to make smooth paste of it. Apply this mixture as face mask. Leave it for 20-30 minutes and this mask will absorb the impurities from your skin. Rinse of thoroughly with normal or warm water.


2. Sesame oil

Sesame oil works as natural moisturizer for facial and whole body skin. It contains vitamin E, linoleic acids, palmitic acids and stearic acids. It is safe to use sesame oil regularly for optimum results. Lemon and orange works as natural astringent; it helps to close skin pores, eliminates and prevents excess oil from the skin. It is an perfect toner for skin which fades scars and gives you glowing skin.

Ingredients

Sesame oil 1 teaspoon
Lemon juice 1 teaspoon
Honey 1 teaspoon



Procedure

Mix 1 teaspoon of warm sesame oil with 1 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice. Massage with this mixture for 5-10 minutes in upward and circular motion and wash off after 20-30 minutes with lukewarm water. Rub your face gently with lemon slice or tomato slice to remove sesame oil properly from your skin while washing your face.




3. Avocado

Avocado is rich in Vitamin E and fatty acids; regular application of avocado paste moisturizes, hydrates our skin and gives you tight, flexible skin. Honey is well known as natural moisturizer for skin. Honey contains lots of beneficial compounds such as antioxidant and antihistamine, which reduces redness. Honey gives you soft, bright skin, it also fights acne and acne scars.

Avocado paste
Honey

Procedure

Make 2 tablespoon of avocados paste by grinding or crushing it, add 1 teaspoon of honey in it. Apply this paste for 30-45 minutes and wash off with normal water. Do this regularly for 2 weeks and you will get amazing results.




4. Oatmeal & Glycerin

Oatmeal acts as moisturizer by removing the dead skin cells. It goes deep into the skin to provide perfect moisturizing effects to your skin. Oats can remove dryness by fighting dull skin layer as it contains polysaccharides, which become gummy in water. Polysaccharides form a fine protective layer when applied on skin.



Ingredients

Oatmeal 2 tablespoon
Glycerin


Procedure

Take some oatmeal and make 2 tablespoon smooth paste of it, add 5-6 drops of glycerin to it, mix it well and apply on your skin for 30 minutes. Rinse off with normal water; follow this twice a day for 20 days.


5. Carrot face mask

Carrots contain high amounts of Vitamin A and antioxidants which protects your skin against various problems such as dryness, excessive oil, acne, dark spots etc. Potassium deficiency can lead to dry skin and carrots are excellent source of potassium; therefore, drinking carrot juice can prevent dryness as well as keeps your skin hydrated.

Ingredients

1 carrot
1 teaspoon of multani mitti
1 tablespoon honey
5 drops glycerin

Procedure

Grind carrot in mixer or juicer and get some fresh juice of it. Take 2 tablespoon of carrot juice and add multani mitti and honey in it, also add 5 drops of glycerin. Mix them all properly to make fine paste, you can add more multani mitti in required to make paste smooth. Apply this paste on your face for 20-30 minutes. Wash away with lukewarm water. Do this 4-5 time a week for best result.
